Pretty much summed up why I don't like her either...they were so focused on it being all about Gwen and making her "perfect" she became a Mary Sue with little to no consequences (Well that and she's about as green as can be and is somehow second in command). They had several great opportunities to evolve Gwen into a decent character but she just has to be perfect.
