Well, in just two days' time, I will be on a plane on the first leg of my journey to the UK, and my very own Great Big Adventure!
And can I just say right now how glad I am that I'm flying Singapore Airlines, rather than QANTAS?
Everything is packed... well, mostly. One last going through tomorrow, and I have to sort out my vital documents and finances, and then I'll be ready to go. Strangely, I am not feeling particularly nervous or even excited. Somehow, though, I reckon that will change tomorrow night, or Sunday morning at the latest.
I am very much looking forward to the trip, and to finally seeing John Barrowman performing live. I'm especially happy that my first (and possibly only) experience of seeing him live on stage will be for one of his own concerts. I reckon it would be a pretty thrilling experience to see him in a West End musical, but I'm ecstatic that I'll get to see him on stage, being himself. I've heard about the incredible bundle of energy that is John in a live performance so many times. Now, it's going to be my turn to experience that.
I'll try to write down as much of my experience as I can, and post it for those who are interested, but I probably won't post a detailed report until after I get home, which will be November 22nd. I have, however, promised some sort of update - my good friend here at home made me promise before I went on holiday, so I can't let her down!
In the meantime, I will endeavour to post a third chapter of Futurus Redemptor before I leave on Sunday. As usual, I have it all handwritten, but making myself type it up proves to be a challenge.
Now, I shall return to typing that chapter, and letting my mind wander towards all the things I have to look forward to over the next few weeks.
Also, if there is anyone out there going to either the London or Cardiff concerts, I would love to be able to say hello! I am already meeting up with a couple of friends in Cardiff, and it would be an absolute pleasure to see other online friends at the concerts.
Here's to Big Grand Adventures!
