Well, in just two days' time, I will be on a plane on the first leg of my journey to the UK, and my very own Great Big Adventure!
And can I just say right now how glad I am that I'm flying Singapore Airlines, rather than QANTAS?
Everything is packed... well, mostly. One last going through tomorrow, and I have to sort out my vital documents and finances, and then I'll be ready to go. Strangely, I am not feeling particularly nervous or even excited. Somehow, though, I reckon that will change tomorrow night, or Sunday morning at the latest.
I am very much looking forward to the trip, and to finally seeing John Barrowman performing live. I'm especially happy that my first (and possibly only) experience of seeing him live on stage will be for one of his own concerts. I reckon it would be a pretty thrilling experience to see him in a West End musical, but I'm ecstatic that I'll get to see him on stage, being himself. I've heard about the incredible bundle of energy that is John in a live performance so many times. Now, it's going to be my turn to experience that.
I'll try to write down as much of my experience as I can, and post it for those who are interested, but I probably won't post a detailed report until after I get home, which will be November 22nd. I have, however, promised some sort of update - my good friend here at home made me promise before I went on holiday, so I can't let her down!
In the meantime, I will endeavour to post a third chapter of Futurus Redemptor before I leave on Sunday. As usual, I have it all handwritten, but making myself type it up proves to be a challenge.
Now, I shall return to typing that chapter, and letting my mind wander towards all the things I have to look forward to over the next few weeks.
Also, if there is anyone out there going to either the London or Cardiff concerts, I would love to be able to say hello! I am already meeting up with a couple of friends in Cardiff, and it would be an absolute pleasure to see other online friends at the concerts.
Here's to Big Grand Adventures!

Last year was my first JB concert. Right at the beginning I still was not excited yet, suddenly wondering whether it was a mistake to come and what if I don't like it. Then John came on stage and blew me away.
I did write a lengthy report back then as well, with pictures and videos:

So, this time I know what to expect, and it was hard to resist reading reports of others, but I don't want to spoil myself. No idea how to survive the next two weeks. My excitement level is very high at the moment.
I wish you a good travel with no problems, and have lots of fun in the UK and visit many things. See ya in Cardiff!

But you are going to have a brilliant time my dear.

I know I won't get to actually meet John like Dad met Katherine Jenkins, but just seeing him in concert is a dream come true. Not wishing away the holiday, though. I have many things to look forward to over the next three weeks!

It's from 25th till 27th of November, just when you are back home. They specifically scheduled it so that it happened at the weekend after his tour ended.

I had the same happening a few years ago - attended lots of Stargate conventions, but Richard Dean "MacGyver" Anderson always was too shy to come. I'd resigned meeting him to "things that never will happen" and surely could understand his reasoning (he once had a bad experience with crowds).
Now look at my icon, five years, four conventions and two long travels to Vancouver later, how relaxed he is - we all got a wonderful hug this time!
So I learned: even impossible dreams might come true one day - when you least expect it.

I can now only hope he will make his wish touring with this come true.

While I still love JB I'm not quite as into him as I used to be but I still admire his ability to work as hard as he does and stay on top of his game.

Right now every day of my life is about him, what with the upcoming tour, all the various radio interviews and TV-shows he recently did, and the cook book and the grooming line I bought... but I'm sure that will change one day again, like back in June when I had seen David Tennant for real, so I was squeeing about him for a few weeks and John had to take a back seat. I'm sure he understands ;)
Or like my Sherlock Holmes books, which I last read as a teenager twenty years ago, and then something like "Sherlock" comes along and I am diving back into it and remember why I used to love it so much.
Well, that was a very long answer to a short reply - sorry!
Greetings from Germany
