A/N: As near as I can tell, this is the pentultimate chapter. It's also extremely long, because I figure I've kept everyone waiting long enough and I didn't want to finish it on a cliff-hanger.

Warning: There are scenes in this chapter that some may interpret as 'Gwen-bashing'. I personally do not. I consider what I've written to be Real!Gwen - insecure, somewhat selfish and unintentionally manipulative. However, she also has redeeming features, and I think I've positively resolved the 'Gwen is jealous of Jack, Ianto and Eleya' plot device. If you strenuously object to Gwen being portrayed in anything other than a saintly light, you might want to skip ahead whenever you see her name mentioned.


On another note, a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. May the year ahead be happy, safe, and filled with friends and family for all. The following is the Christmas gift that I'd intended to post in time for Christmas, but arrived a little late. It's a long one, so hopefully there will be no problems with posting it in one chapter.

A/N: My apologies for the delay in getting this posted. I had it hand-written, but typing it up proved a bit more of an issue than I'd hoped. I had intended to finish this by the time NaNoWriMo started, but no such luck. Hopefully this installment will satisfy.

On another note, despite some setbacks - such as a severely sprained calf muscle and an inflamed achilles - at the end of day eight (Australian time), I am well ahead of the count with 21,589 words and I'm not yet finished for the day.

I'm writing original fiction this year, and I really like the way it's shaping up. I sincerely hope that when it's done, I might just have a manuscript that will be worth sending off to publishers.
